Our Mission Statement

The Office of the Registrar has the primary responsibility of maintaining and storing the academic records of all current and former students. The Office of the Registrar, aligned with the Vision 2020 initiatives, has two priority goals: to maintain a high quality of service to all who come into contact with the office; and maintain and protect the academic integrity of the student record in accordance with University, state and federal guidelines.


The Office of the Registrar is a service-oriented organization assisting the Texas A&M University community.  Some of our primary responsibilities include:
  • Processing all grades, grade changes, and name changes
  • Creating the Academic Calendar
  • Production of the undergraduate & graduate and professional catalogs for Texas A&M University
  • Provide assistance to administrators, faculty, and staff regarding the approval process for the development of new courses and degree programs as well as the implementation of changes to existing courses and programs for the University
  • Maintaining degree program information, including program requirements submitted by academic departments annually
  • Organizing commencement activities, conducting graduation clearance for all undergraduate degree candidates,  ordering diplomas for all degree candidates, & production of commencement programs
  • Answering residency (for tuition purposes) questions & making residency determinations
  • Archiving student records and maintaining the integrity and security of those records
  • Ensuring Texas A&M University complies with the Family Educational & Rights Privacy Act and answering questions related to FERPA
  • Maintaining classroom inventory & coordinating the registration calendar
  • Processing requests for official Texas A&M University transcripts for all current & former students
  • $1,000 Tuition Rebate, Excess Credit Hour Rule, B-On-Time Loan Forgiveness, and Reverse Transfer processing
  • Certifying academic eligibility for NCAA & club sport athletes
  • Notarizing transcripts, diplomas, and other TAMU documents for the campus community
  • Processing Compass account requests for security groups, hold types, and business profiles owned by the Office of the Registrar
  • Responding to subpoenas & open records requests.
