Degree Audit offers training available through TrainTraq. The courses may be found in TrainTraq by clicking on the Course Catalog tab and searching by the individual course number.

Degree Evaluation Essentials (2114038)
This training provides instructions for advisors on:
  • How to generate and read a degree evaluation in Howdy
    • Undergraduate and professional degree program evaluations
    • Undergraduate and graduate certificate program evaluations
    • What-If Analysis
  • Understand areas and requirements within a degree evaluation

Double Major Requests (2114055)
This training provides a demo and detailed instructions on how to successfully submit an undergraduate double major request in the University Adjustment System (UAS).  Tips and tricks will be discussed so come ready to take notes.
 
Graduation Clearance (2114056)
This training provides staff and administrators knowledge and resources to track undergraduate and professional graduation clearance, along with undergraduate and graduate certificate completion clearance.  The demo will  go through the process of graduation application submission through the final clearance deadline for a semester.
 
UAS Essentials (2114054)
This training provides faculty, staff, and administrators with tips, tricks, and how-to instructions for:
  • Submitting adjustments
  • Undergraduate exceptions
  • Degree audit exceptions
  • Graduate exceptions
  • Professional exceptions
  • Additional curriculum requests in the UAS

FERPA Training
FERPA: Implications for Faculty, Staff & Advisors (2114557)
This training provides guidance on the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as Amended (FERPA) and its practical implications for faculty, staff, and academic advisors at Texas A&M University. In addition to a refresher on key definitions and provisions under FERPA, participants will explore and discuss the application of FERPA on practical scenarios.

Note: Train Traq #11012: FERPA is a course prerequisite.

Designed for academic advisors, REGI 101 is a one-day workshop that provides a comprehensive introduction to the Office of the Registrar’s services and procedures. This session lays the groundwork for understanding key academic processes and policies. Topics include Class Schedule Development, Add/Drop, State Policies Overview, FERPA, Undergraduate Student Curriculum Record Maintenance, Course Level Change, University Adjustment System, Records, Athletic Certification, Graduation Clearance, and Catalog.

Registrar 102 (REGI 102: 2114711)

Take a deeper dive into the Office of the Registrar’s services and procedures in this one-day workshop. REGI 102 is the second session in our professional development series, designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of key processes and systems that support academic operations. Topics include: Ombuds and Export Controls, Curricular Services, Citizenship and Residency, Transcripts, COMPASS, Undergraduate Degree Planner, Commencement Planning & Logistics, and FERPA.

REGI 101 and 102 learning outcomes are aligned with the NACADA Academic Advising Core Competencies to ensure applicable professional development for participants.

2114783 : SRS/Astra Scheduling Workshop 
This workshop is intended for classroom schedulers who need a refresher on how to effectively navigate and utilize Section Request System (SRS), Astra Schedule, and Compass for academic section scheduling. A pre-training survey will be sent to those registered in order to determine the topics for each section. Topics may include: 
  • adjusting section start and end dates
  • setting filters in Astra
  • updating section restrictions in Compass
  • maximizing classroom utilization using standard meeting patterns
  • reporting tools, etc. 

2114784 : SRS/Astra New Scheduler Training 
This training provides instruction for new classroom schedulers on how to effectively use Section Request System (SRS), Astra Schedule, and Compass for academic section scheduling. We will begin by reviewing the annual course scheduling timeline and online resources available to classroom schedulers. 
 
Training for the Section Request System (SRS) includes: 
  • Creating new sections
  • Editing and cancelling existing sections
  • Start and end date changes (part of term)
  • Special topics, study abroad, and other special section requests
  • How to request day/time/room updates after Astra access closes
In the Astra Schedule, we will review: 
  • Effectively navigating scheduling grids and academic section lists using filters
  • Editing days/times/rooms during Phase 1 classroom priority access
Functions in Compass include: 
  • Setting enrollment limits
  • Assigning instructors
  • Updating section registration restrictions
