Headquarters to our nearly 6,500 students from more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in 14 academic departments, the Agriculture and Life Sciences (AGLS) building houses the Office of the Dean of the College Agriculture and Life Sciences, 3 academic departments, and 7 classrooms. With dedicated faculty and almost 60 academic advisors committed to student success, our college is a place that combines world-class research and teaching with genuine Aggie friendliness.
As a recognized leader in agriculture, natural resources and life sciences, the college is proud to reside in the environmentally friendly building. Seven state-of-the-art classrooms and open-access computer labs are located on the first floor. The computer labs provide a wide range of computers, software, scanners and printers, and the classrooms feature sophisticated projection systems and stadium-style risers.
Academic departments include Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication (ALEC), Agricultural Economics (AGEC), and Recreation, Parks and Tourism Sciences (RPTS). Also housed in the building are Texas A&M AgriLife agency director's offices of Texas AgriLife Research and Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
The complex includes numerous bike racks for health-and-energy-conscious commuters, as well as three showers inside the building for cyclists, walkers and others who exercise during the day.
