Howdy,

As the end of the semester approaches, I would like to remind all departments to continue to monitor graduation clearance for certificate programs. Information regarding the various clearance reports, deadlines, and any possible actions advisors may need to take on behalf of their students can be found on the Advisor Graduation Clearance Resources page.

The last day for students to apply to graduate with a certificate(s) through Original Howdy is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Certificate graduation applications for Spring 2025 will not be accepted after this deadline.

There are daily Compass reports available that can be used to assist in determining which certificate degree candidates have not met all requirements. These reports are not meant to replace advisors performing individual audits but intended to provide a quick summary of unmet requirements. A student will only show on the clearance report if the certificate is active on their record AND they have submitted a certificate graduation application for the Spring 2025 term. The report name is: SRC_CS_DC_CLEAR_CT_XX_CSV (XX = your college code).

If any course adjustments need to be submitted or if any certificate non-course requirements need to be marked as completed, please submit the necessary requests through the University Adjustment System (UAS) by 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2025.

Printed certificates awarded in Spring 2025 will ship in mid-June 2025. A student applying to graduate with a certificate in Spring 2025 must have all unmet requirements satisfied by Friday, May 30, 2025.

If a student no longer plans to complete their certificate program(s), please submit an Additional Curriculum - Removal request through the University Adjustment System (UAS). This would apply to students that have an active graduation application for the certificate program they no longer plan to complete, or for students who have applied to graduate with a degree but have not applied to graduate with a certificate program they no longer plan to complete. These requests would be submitted by an advisor in the department offering the certificate program.

If you have any questions, please contact Degree Audit at (979) 845-1089 or degree-audit@tamu.edu.

Thank you,
