Howdy,

As Summer 2024 graduation approaches, I would like to provide the following information regarding the Student Rule 14.2 clearance process, email communications that will be sent to students, and resources available to advisors to assist with degree clearance.

Information regarding the various clearance reports, deadlines, and any possible action advisors may need to take on behalf of their students can be found on the Advisor Graduation Clearance Resources page. Please note that emails from advisors requesting that students not be cancelled will not be accepted. Students must be clearing or have all necessary documentation on file with Degree Audit to avoid cancellation.

Starting this Summer, any forms of Degree Requirements Verification (DRV) that students provide directly to Degree Audit will be visible to advisors in the nightly clearance reports in Column AO (DRV). If the course has (ADJ) or (CE) listed next to it, this means that an adjustment or curricular exception would need to be submitted to Degree Audit via the University Adjustment System (UAS) for it to apply in the degree evaluation. Once that request is submitted, the ADJ/CE notation will be removed.

Every Friday, starting on June 14, 2024, our office will send weekly warning emails to degree candidates and updated clearance lists to colleges. These emails and updates will continue through the cancellation deadline on July 24, 2024. The weekly warning email to degree candidates will only be sent to those who are set for cancellation. The information distributed to colleges will include a breakdown of all students not currently clearing and will identify those set for cancellation. These breakdowns will be sent to each college’s AOC Deans and AOC Advising representatives.

We will cancel graduation applications on July 25, 2024, for students who do not appear to meet all degree requirements based on the undergraduate degree cancellation criteria.

The online graduation application for degree programs closes at 11:59 p.m., July 5, 2024. A student applying after that date must do so through the Paper Graduation Application. Any student applying to graduate for a degree after July 5, 2024 must prove they are enrolled in or have completed all degree requirements per Student Rule 14.2.

All Summer 2024 graduation applications must be submitted by August 6, 2024. Per Student Rule 14.5, the last day for students to have all final grades, official transcripts, and/or waivers on file and still be considered a Summer 2024 degree candidate is 5:00 p.m., August 23, 2024.

If you have any questions, please contact Degree Audit at (979) 845-1089 or degree-audit@tamu.edu.
