Friday Fun with FERPA
 
Resource Recap
As we are near the end of this academic year, I wanted to provide a recap of the various FERPA resources available to support the Texas A&M community.
 
For general FERPA information, including a list of items classified as Directory Information, review the Office of the Registrar site for FERPA and FERPA Forms & Resources.
 
Several informational documents have been designed for faculty and staff use, including FERPA in the Classroom, FERPA and Advising, and FERPA and Letters of Recommendation.
 
Furthermore, to support writing and submitting letters of recommendation provided to individuals other than the student requestor, fillable forms for consent to release education records have been created for use related to these documents (graduate/professional schools and employment).
 
Also housed on the Office of the Registrar website are archives of FERPA news and announcements sent by our office within the past two years.
 
Individuals within the Office of the Registrar are available to participate in FERPA presentations and/or question and answer sessions for any department or college faculty or staff meeting. To schedule, submit a request to ferpa@tamu.edu or call (979) 845-1711.
